The vase is a diagram of the Evolution of the Universe over 13.7 billion years.
On the surface of the vase are annotations indicating The Timeline of the Universe different phases; from the first quantum fluctuation, inflation, to the big bang - afterglow of light, to the dark ages, and the appearance of the first stars 400 million years ago - through the development of galaxies.
The vase model is based on scientific research from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe (WMAP), and the Hubble Space Telescope.
